"A Secret Love" is a documentary that was filmed between 2013 and 2018. We meet Terry Donahue and Pat Henschel, a lesbian couple in their early 90s who have been together for over 65 years. The two  began a romantic relationship in 1947 in secret — right after Terry played ball for the All-American Girls Professional Baseball League, which inspired the Penny Marshall film "A League of Their Own". But the documentary doesn’t focus on their lives in the past but more in the present day, confronting the realities of old age and the need to make decisions about the future.  "A Secret Love" is a truly compelling look at the hard truths that come with aging.  The pair are shown leaving their longtime St. Charles home for the nearby Delnor Glen Assisted Living facility, where they wed in 2015.

Summary (out of 5)

"A League Of Their Own" was one of those films I watched many times through my childhood. Who would have thought there was another story to be untold.   "A Secret Love" will tug on your heartstrings for sure.  Make sure you have your kleenex on hand as I guarantee you will need (Tom Hanks who starred in "A League Of Their Own", would like to remind you that there is no crying in baseball).  This was truly a beautiful love story and I would recommend  you check it out.
