Edgar-Jones stars as Kate Cooper, a former storm chaser haunted by a devastating encounter with a tornado during her college years who now studies storm patterns on screens safely in New York City. She is lured back to the open plains by her friend, Javi (Golden Globe nominee Anthony Ramos, In the Heights) to test a groundbreaking new tracking system. There, she crosses paths with Tyler Owens (Glen Powell), the charming and reckless social-media superstar who thrives on posting his storm-chasing adventures with his raucous crew, the more dangerous the better. As storm season intensifies, terrifying phenomena never seen before are unleashed, and Kate, Tyler and their competing teams find themselves squarely in the paths of multiple storm systems converging over central Oklahoma in the fight of their lives.
Twisters is a true force of nature, delivering one epic film that is going to rip the roof off of cinemas! Daisy Edgar-Jones and Glen Powell are spectacular, both cementing themselves as movie stars. Lee Isaac Chung’s direction is masterful, mixing human centric storytelling, sweeping visuals of the American countryside and disaster level filmmaking on a scale out of this world. And that final act, it’s the reason why the term blockbuster exists!

Twisters is exactly the large disaster movie audiences will love! Daisy Edgar-Jones delivers a personal and exhilarating performance as a struggling storm chaser. Her ability to convey her emotions in just a glance brings some true heart to the smaller moments. Powell’s charm succeeds once again as the wild tornado wrangler with more to him than it seems. It’s extremely predictable, which takes away from the intensity of the tornado scenes and overall depth to the story. But the beautiful visuals and creative camerawork make up for it. A crowd pleaser through and through!

A fantastic performance from Glen Powell and a sharp and exciting third act that saved Twisters from being a dud. Although it didn't line up to my expectations, it's still a fun summer blockbuster meant to be seen on the big screen.
