With the release of 'Ghostbusters: Frozen Empire,' it’s time to update my Ghostbusters ranking. To no one’s surprise at all, the original Ghostbuster remains the franchise’s best film because it’s more than just the best Ghostbusters film. It’s one of the smartest, most hilarious and rewatchable comedies of all time in my opinion, and no matter how many times you’ve seen it, the jokes remain killer. The rest of the franchise is full of highs and lows, whether it be the wonderful legacy sequel Ghostbusters: Afterlife that was not only a beautiful love letter to the franchise, but to the late Harold Ramis; the too often bashed upon Ghostbusters (2016) which is wickedly funny thanks to a great lead cast, and Ghostbusters II which is the butt end of many jokes for a good reason. Without further ado, my ranking of the Ghostbusters series is:
